JUDY M. JONES joined Parkowski, Guerke & Swayze, P.A. in May 2015. She practices as a litigator in a variety of the Delaware courts, focusing her practice primarily in the Delaware Family Courts where she regularly appears in all three counties. She also has substantial experience in child welfare law, including the presentation and defense in termination of parental rights, guardianship, substantiation and adoption cases, privately and those cases involving the Division of Family Services.
Ms. Jones is a Delaware Superior Court certified mediator and assists in alternative dispute resolution for clients seeking to avoid litigation. She has also served as an expert witness in a family law case in 2019. She is a Co-Chair of the Women in Law Programming Committee of the Delaware State Bar Association. Delaware Today has listed her as a top family law lawyer in 2018 and 2019.
Prior to joining Parkowski, Guerke & Swayze, Ms. Jones clerked for the Honorable William J. Walls, Jr. and William N. Nicholas of the Delaware Family Court, Kent County, before maintaining her own solo practice.
Ms. Jones graduated cum laude from James Madison University with a B.A. in 1991, and graduated cum laude from the Widener University Delaware Law School, receiving her J.D. in 1996. She is admitted to practice in the State of Delaware and the United States District Court for the District of Delaware and she is a member of the Delaware Bar Association.
